Returning for the second consecutive year as the face of Blackglama  a tight, toned, and nearly-naked Janet strikes a pose for the sexy new photoshoot.

Jackson represents the brand's iconic "What Becomes a Legend Most?" campaign which was crafted under the creative direction of Blackglama's advertising agency Laspata DeCaro and was photographed by Rocco Laspata.

"It's a very different vibe, this go around" says Creative Director Charles DeCaro of this year's shoot. "There's many narratives in Janet. This was that edgier, kind of cooler, modern, and rock-n-roll."

Since the campaign's inception four decades ago, Blackglama legends have included Sophia Loren, Diana Ross, Audrey Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, Elizabeth Taylor, and Liza Minnelli.

The first ad will debut in the September issue of W Magazine.

June 25 : Michael Jackson passes away in Los Angeles after suffering a cardiac arrest and being taken to a hospital

Janet who is at her home in NYC learns the tragic news. Her manager Kenneth Crear releases the following statement as reported live on CNN:


"Janet Jackson is grief stricken and devastated at the sudden loss of her brother. She is in pre-production for a movie and is flying immediately to California to be with her family."


June 26 : Janet arrives in L.A  and goes to Hayvenhurst to be with the family.
JD joins her to give his support.

June 27 : Janet sends moving trucks to Michael's home in Carolwood.

June 28 : Janet makes a surprise appearance at the BET Awards where she gives a short speech on behalf of the Jackson family thanking everyone for their support following the death of her brother Michael.

The previously scheduled awards show ends up turning into a tribute to the King of Pop, who is honored throughout the entire night.

It is Janet's first public appearance since her brother's passing. Her father Joseph is also sitting in the audience.

July 05 : Janet and JD are spotted getting burgers and drinks in Malibu, California.

July 06 : The Jackson family has an open coffin viewing of Michael's body at Forest Lawn cemetary with Karen Faye and Michael Bush' help to make Michael look beautiful for eternity.

July 07 : The whole Jackson family and friends attend a private memorial early in the morning at Forest Lawn cemetary.

Then they go to the public memorial at the Staples Center in downtown L.A.

At the end of the tribute show, the Jackson family and all the artist perform We Are The World and Heal The World with Prince, Paris and Blanket.
Paris ends the tribute with a moving speech calling Michael "the best daddy you could ever imagine" before breaking in Janet's arms.

Just after, Janet and her sisters LaToya and Rebbie walk across the street and give short speeches at the Nokia Theater, where a group of fans who were unable to get inside of the arena watched the memorial live on a movie screen.

Following the memorial at Staples, the family has a lunch reception at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel ballroom with a couple hundred of their nearest and dearest. 

July 8 : Janet flies to the Bahamas to start the filming of Why Did I Get Married II.

Late July : Janet completes the filming of Why Did I Get Married, Too? in Atlanta.

August 3 : Janet's official website, janetjackson.com re-opens with a new look and new features.
In addition, the site contains links to Janet's official YouTube, Twitter, MySpace, and Facebook pages.

The website states: Later this year, Janet will publish her first book, providing an intimate look at her life and how she has dealt with issues of self-esteem. Janet will reveal aspects not known before about her uniquely successful career not only in music but in television and motion pictures.

September 03 :  Michael is finally buried in The Great Mausoleum at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, CA.
The service is attended by approximately 200 family and close friends.

The pallbearers are Michael’s five brothers : Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Randy Jackson. At the beginning of the ceremony, Prince, Paris & Blanket a crown on their father’s coffin to signify the final resting place of the King of Pop.

Following the funerals the family and the guests go to Villa Sorriso Ristorante -- an Italian restaurant in Pasadena.

In the article, Janet reveals for the first time that she has indeed split with Jermaine Dupri, confirming rumors that they had broken up this summer.

October 13 : Universal Music Enterprises today sends a press release to announce Janet's upcoming greatest hits compilation, Number Ones.

The release confirms the previously announced November 17 release date in the US and reveals a November 23 international release date.

The international edition of the album will be titled Janet Jackson: The Best.

The press release spells the album's title as "Number Ones" and not "#1's" as it was previously being referred to.

December 13 :  A&E Network airs the 1st episode of The Jacksons : A Family Dynasty, a US reality show based on the lives of Jermaine, Marlon, Tito & Jackie and their plan to release an album and tour in celebration of the 40 anniversary of the band. Janet's voice can be heard in this episode during a phone conversation between her and The Jacksons on her last birthday.
